So, who's glad that winter is here?! Anyone?? I didn't think so and I surely don't blame you! I'm not exactly a fan of winter either which is one of the reasons that I was adamant that I was not moving to Wisconsin when my husband approached me with the idea. Well, since I lost that battle and ended up in Wisconsin and am now waist deep in snow and ice (that might be a slight exaggeration but, it feels like it), I figure I had better get prepared for the long winter. I was thrilled to know that there is a new ice scraper on the market. I have always had the long scrapers with the brush on one end and scraper on the other. I like that I can reach far with them but I can't ever seem to exert enough pressure to actually scrape the windshield in the middle. When I first saw the Scrape-A-Round, I could see how they might be on to something.
Even though there isn't an extended reach, you can still scrape a larger area (18 inches) because of the circular design. I have a lot of problems with my hands that make the old ice scrapers very hard for me to use. The Scrape-A-Round is much easier on my hands because I do not have to grip it tightly and I don't have to exert as much force to scrape the ice. I also love that you can scrape in a circular motion which seems to be much easier than the standard back and forth.
There are several sizes available, the smallest sizes are great for getting ice off of smaller windows or mirrors.
The two larger scrapers have caps on the top that are used to score the ice which makes removal much easier.
My husband thinks it is great that he can also use these scrapers as funnels for washer fluid because he never has one when he needs it.
I took a quick video of myself scraping the window on my screen door. I'm sure you would have rather seen me use it on my car but, the temp here is -15 with the windchill and I didn't want to freeze so, this will have to do.
I also included a video from Scrape-A-Round so that you can get a better idea of how the design works.
I really do love this scraper! I think it would make a fantastic gift, especially for those that have problems with their hands! If you would like to get a scraper for yourself you can do so at this link http://www.scrapearound.com/. Use the code LU8FBEZREU2and you will receive free shipping!
